Love Poem

[Verse 1]
Returning as through pages of a book
I look at how love begins
Younger than now
Somehow a little stronger than that first impression I had
Under sunlit windows
We met and yet we didn't speak
And so love begins

Foolish I guess put it best
I thought we might be friends
And then over midnight coffee
Evening walkin'
A special joy in just talking' I'd never known before
So love begins

You were leaning on me
And I on you
Neither of us sure exactly what to do
Or how to explain what we felt
Even though we found release in knowing the other felt the same
The words and the truth finally came

We were in love
Above the crowded café
We had to say it over and over
As if we were afraid in silence
The warmth we made would leave us
So love begins

I may not be one of those
Lucky enough to find again what we had then
But I won't spend all of the hours alone in sadness
For that is for those who have never known
Have never been loved at all
I have been loved
