Dominoes

Sitting with the dog
Trying to clear the fog
Of the memory, the last time
I saw her face

Fifty years of time
An accident would take my mind
Shortly after take my wife away from me

Cat skills are all frozen
Playing dominoes
And I can hear a voice reminding me
I'm her hero

Finding myself able
With the chair across the table
To remember that it wasn't always empty

And I see her beside me
As the grandkids, they remind me
She's in the cemetery
