Abandoned

In my readings I have found
One whose heart has faith
And when his walls are closing down
He has still felt safe
And he said

I am abandoned
God has never forsaken me
I am abandoned
God has never abandoned me

Of this fearless trust in God
Is it found and true?
In my testing I have found
That He can lead me through
And I said

I am abandoned
God has never forsaken me
I am abandoned
God has never abandoned me
