Sunshine & Water
The last time that we talked
There were cobwebs in the corner
I couldn't pay attention
And you were telling me to stay here
I chose to play along
But the web was growing bigger
Despite my good intentions
You knew I'd have to leave here
The color of the cloth
That your mother made for her
I felt a sense of envy
But remembered something better
So I closed my eyes to talk
Gasping for the answer
No cobwebs to distract me
No cloth for me to envy
She's a little bit of mine
But in her I see the world
And when I look into her eyes
I can see a future
Of sunshine and water
I can see her mother
I was counting on the clock
The seconds left me hanging
A thread pulled on my sock
Just anxiously awaiting
Just to sit and talk
So I could get to know you better
Cold collected thoughts
Staring in a mirror
She's a little bit of mine
But in her I see the world
And when I look into her eyes
I can see a future
Of sunshine and water
I can see her mother
