Writing Process

So um, people ask me sometimes
What my writing process is when I write songs
And, yeah, this is basically it
I sit in one place
Preferably really early in the morning
And I sit down with the guitar, or a keyboard
And I'll just mash, you know, chords or melodies
I'll play melodies that don't necessarily inspire
Other melodies, but they inspire songs
Like I'll sit here with like a keyboard, you know
And just play anything
And that'll make me wanna write a song about, um
My cat, you know?
