Finally Gone Viral

Greg Brown

I just found out that I have the virus
I cant feel it but it's in my body and now I've got it
Like the plague no one wants me now
So I sit alone and think about how

This all started; how it didn't have to be
How we all got screwed so quickly
How it came so politically
We fouled this up now it affects my family

Now I'm worried for my friends and those near to me
I hope I'm not the cause of their misery
I stayed as safe as I could, stayed home as we should
Had minimal contact with the people I know
For all I did it did me no good

I've finally gone viral but it's not what I'd hoped
I want everyone to love me and to get my inside jokes
Now I'm the picture of sickness to my family and friends
But Going Viral is not what it used to be

So I'll wait for my friends and family to get tested
And behind my back I'll be detested
But if we'd have listened to science, instead of reliance
On gut instinct, I wouldn't be in this mess

Just me... and a few hundred thousand more
You know it's more costly than any war
Now that life's in a spiral
I've finally gone viral
