The Truth About Gina
Gina tries to understand
Why she holds so little in her hand
And how she can't remember
What has passed through
A mirror finds wet Gina's eyes
For reasons unidentified
And if you ask her why
She says, "I never cry"
But far behind
Her calm expression lies the truth
An image of a little girl
Flashes now in an older world
Before she was taught to need
And learned to want
You can ask but never understand
The pain as my innocence burns
She says "I was made a child
That is what I am"
But far beyond
Her pale white skin lies
The truth she denies
So not to face her battered innocence
Little memories carry her away
For every beginning there must be an ending
So to the child she returns
