What to Say

I remember those times
When we lay there talking
Your heart spilled all over my chest
It’s not that I don’t care now
It’s just things are different
I’m trying so hard not to screw this up

But I find it so hard to know what to say

I am trying to be the man
That you can lean on but lately I’m finding I fall
They say that men are fixers
I’ll fix anything else
But it’s tearing me up that I can’t fix this.

But when we cry out, God hears our prayers
The Lord is near to the heartbroken
His power is made perfect in our weakness
So I’m content to trust His goodness
On our knees, we come before
The One who is above it all
He leads us through our suffering and pain
He’s right here with us
Turning it for good
