The Homesong’s Call
Gazing across the centuries
Home is a distant memory
Beneath these trees deep shadows roam
Dark are my dreams in
The stars' ever-fading glow
So long ago I believed
I would return one day back to those shores
To remain evermore
Awaiting love to let me go
Wandering star-dusk shadow
Songbirds sing of long lost light
All I left behind
My heart it longs to escape
This dark wonderland
My heart it bears all the weight
Of my mistakes i am she who yearns to
Retrace the steps of memories
My prayer to return erelong
My heart's evensong
Longing for what was dear to me
Weary of this captivity
Moonlight unveils weeping paths of stone
O'er mountains steep
Dare I try to climb my way home?
So long ago I believed
I would return one day back to those shores
To remain evermore
Growing pale as a spirit's flame
Slumbering souls beneath this place
Deafened to the homesong's call
I've heard all along
My heart it longs to escape
This dark wonderland
My heart it bears all the weight
Of my mistakes i am she who has walked
This lonely world for centuries
