A Space Odyssey
I'm Sick and tired like my used car
My vehicle to carry me to the stars
Busted a wheel as I pealed off between Venus and Mars
My zeal is beaten and lost
Best to conceal and reveal when shit really get hard
I appeal to the lord but he say count your scars
Cause theirs bound to be more if I try to reach God
It's dark on this side of the moon
Consumed by the tides at the edge of my room
I resume but in time i'd still meet my doom
Or find out that the stars are just leftover fumes
Carry me to the place that I knew
Cause new places bury me in cocoons
Take me back to the ignorant moods, ignorant attitudes
A refuge for the consciously tuned
I wish my radio would animate like it used too
Car tunes that captivate in more shades than blue
I dedicate this tune to Neptune
As I pass your hues your gasses ignite my mood
The milky way is vast and dangerous
Treacherous shadows cast that endanger us
Entrenched in the narrow path that encages us
I grasp to the last of the past that enabled us
I had a dream of the end of the journey
Gurneys filled with black bodies within the furnace
In earnest, I tried to pray like Shadrach
In the midst of the burning
But the sun was close and I forgot my purpose
I guess I got a bad rap like a story before the jury
If I could retake this film then I'd play the attorney
I'd debate that mistakes and skills were the least of his worries
And his Odyssey is filled with thrills that kill in a hurry
Best to avoid supernovas while the moments still early
The past is a lesson but the present is learning
If I pay attention black holes will never near me
But I suppose God only knows the future clearly
I'm power steering through the darkness
Shifting gears but never parking
Don't ever let your tears catch up just keep embarking
Like the tree of Yggdrasil
Leave it behind for the saps still carving meals
Barking about their how axes steal is sharp and real
The universe is connected
Watch what you talk into it, don't ever disrespect it
The sparks and fluid that run through the engine
Are congruent to the movement from human to ascension
Everyday I count my blessings
And each night is blessed with stars close enough to chart a direction
But I still suffer from depression
And get lost in the sea of demons deeper
Than that talk of trenches, and I start regressing
And I'm reaching for a meaning that my hands won't even reach
And defeated I pray to Jesus but he say the milky way is for those
Who brave their foes, and pave the way for the others who souls get lost on the road
And I'm reaching for a meaning that my hands won't even reach
And defeated I pray to Jesus but he say the milky way is for those
Who brave their foes, and pave the way for the others who souls get lost on the road
