Fate Astray
Mahsa Vahdat, Hafez
Even if swords rain in the quarter of the moonfaced one
We bow our heads by the will of God
We also know the rituals of piety
But we have to accept that our fate went astray
Your goodness did not reflect in our lives
Oh, mirror face with such a heart, alas
I am a free, fearless lover, I ought to repent
Oh, God have mercy, God have mercy
Oh my dear, how could I express your absence
My eyes have a hundred tears,
my heart has a hundred sighs
The desire of your lips made Hafez forget
Both my evening lesson and my morning prayer
