Seated With Sinners
Oh you righteous man, where does your salvation come from?
It's unearned and undeserved
Has your arrogance and pride, caused you to despise
What still needs to be done here even in the darkest of atmospheres
Who says I can’t be found in a hospital?
Who says I can't be found in the midst of a war?
You’ll find me, in the darkest corners of humanity
Where no one dares to go, for who can know the human soul like the maker can
You’ll find me, where you forget there still lies a need
At a table seated with sinners, reaching out to the thieves and tax collectors
The view from my eyes is a world in need of grace
Oh you starving people, you don’t know what it is you long for
It's a thirst quenching well of water you yourself cannot provide
You look for truth in empty spaces, dark places and your mouth is thirsty and dry
Who says I can’t restore a dying marriage
Who says I can’t redeem in a broken home
You’ll find me in the darkest corners of humanity
Where no man dares to go, for who can know the human soul like the maker can
You’ll find me, where you forget there still lies a need
In your own hearts and own minds, if you would search for me
In your churches I’m still existing
In your congregations still dwelling
In your hurt I'm still mending
In your broken homes I am restoring
For the outcast I am claiming
The prodigal I’m still chasing
For the pretenders I am reality
I’m standing here with my arms waving
Don’t you see the hurting people in need?
The lonely people in need
You are the people in need
