Of all the gifts in God's domain
I think the most sublime is rain
The rain that keeps the earth renewed
With infinite solicitude

That cool the mountain burning crown
And bathe the robin in its nest
To whom the trees and flowers [?]
The drooping blossom to be
[Verse 3]
The rain that’s like a mother's tear
Dissolve the dust of a hu-human fear
That falls on all impartially
And teaches us humility
[Verse 4]
That leaves behind when it departs
A rainbow just for my weary heart
When God foresaw the world in pain
I think He went and called the rain
