THAT’S HOW IT GOES

I’ve told you many stories ‘bout my life
Some did cut my soul as hard as the sharpest knife…
This ain’t gonna be the most recent one
Yet it happens all the time under the same old Sun, hmm…

Whenever I loved someone ‘n’ I wanted her to stay,
Whenever I made new plans, picked up a brand new way,
All of a sudden out of nowhere came trouble, I say
I had to wait a bit longer in my own shadow and pray,
Oh yeah.

I’d buy a one way ticket on an Europe bound plane,
That’s as far as I’m gonna go!
Pull me out of this blizzard and the pouring rain,
Get me out of the showers of snow,
‘cause by your side is where I wanna stay
If I made it thru the stormy way
Just wait a little bit longer, give us the new hope and pray!

Many miles are written on my weary face,
You can bet along the lane there’s not been milk and lace…
Precious moments often vanished without a trace…
Still, I’m not a loser, no, that’s not my case,
You know better than that!

I was the one who’d always seen a distant light,
Even though all the stars completely ran out of my sight,
I kept reaching for some imaginary height,
Deep inside myself I knew that I was doin’ right.
Am I right?

That’s why I’d buy a one way ticket…

That’s how it is, that’s how it goes ‘n’ nobody could change a thing!
That’s how it works, that’s how it rolls
‘n’ one could only cry or sing,
Or disappear for good upon a silent wing.
