I Believe It’s L

Negativland

Challenge this, Pepsi!
Well an independent research firm, just held a taste test
Recently, Pepsi went up against Coca-Cola in side-by-side blind taste tests
Heh heh heh, I don't know
Now, we knew, W.J., coming in, that you were a Coca-Cola drinker
I might have drank one, I don't know
To be totally fair, only Coca-Cola drinkers were tested
And I never drank Coke at all...

Come on, Coca-Cola, come on, Coca-Cola, come on, Coca-Cola
This is the new taste of Coca-Cola!
Now, I never drank Coke...
Yeah, if you love Coca-Cola, take the Pepsi Challenge!
Now, W.J... (I don't know)
(Is this a private party or can any star crash?)
Come on! Please (I don't know)
Come on! Please, please
(They must be talking about me!)

Catch the wave, Coke! (Now, I never drank Coke at all)
This is my guest (Now, I)
[?] (Now, I never)
I'm gonna take that as a no comment, so (I don't know)
But I'm talking about, and you're not, (I don't know)
Is that more people prefer the new, refreshing taste of Coke over Pepsi. (I don't know)
Take the Pepsi challenge (Come on!)
Take the Pepsi Challenge. (I don't know)
Let your taste decide (T-t-t-taste test)
Like they say, let your taste decide. (T-t-t-taste test sh-sh-showdown)

I'm going to let you taste two regular colas
Well, they tested it in Texas!
Coke was on a stallion fair, Pepsi on an old grey mare
Folks tasted it in L.A. (It's a nightmare)
Which one do you prefer?
This is the new taste of Coca-Cola! (It went to tall St Louis)
Which one do you prefer? (Philadel-phi-ay)
Come on, Coca-Cola! (It was clear that Coke would be on top)
It's all across this country! (Everywhere!)
Take this! Take this! Take this! Take the Pepsi Challenge!
People said, "How clever!"

As we Cokeologists say (I don't know)
Well I want you to take the Pepsi challenge
Which one do you prefer?
When you have Product A against Product B (questions they might ask)
When you have Product A against Product B ([?])
When you have Product A against Product B (without tipping them off)
Sometimes, uh, clients want you to have a 50% more, uh, choice there, so
(Without tipping them off to what you're looking for)
Which one do you prefer?

Can you do it without asking questions? See, the problem with the question is you're forcing people to answer yes, no, and so forth, and maybe they don't have an opinion. If you could possibly figure out what's in people's minds without specifically asking them... (Coke, Coke, Coke)
Is it the most refreshing, the most satisfying, the best taste ever, in the history of ever?
What we try to do is get a mental snapshot of the mind of the prospects. The trouble with focus groups and questions, you're starting to probe too deep. The average person doesn't think a lot about these products, that's not an accurate representation of their minds

Which one do you prefer? (Talk about a classic confrontation, the heat is on, and you can really feel the tension)
Now, now (you can really feel the tension)
Now, W.J., which one do you prefer?
Come on, Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola, please, Coca-Cola
I believe it's L
When I pick up this shield, you tell me what you picked
Pepsi (Pepsi? It's a Pepsi)
Pepsi (Pepsi?)
Pepsi-Cola. (He said the P-word!)
He said the P-word. (Pepsi-Cola)
When you have Product A against Product B (Pepsi-Cola)
And they keep choosing the wrong product (Pepsi) (Pepsi-Cola)
Either something's going on wrong with the product that you're trying to sell, or...
[?] (Like they say, let your taste decide!)

Join the Pepsi People!
If you can't beat it, catch it. (Pepsi)
Pepsi (A better taste)
This, this, this is the new taste (It's a fact) (It's true)
This, this, this is the new taste of Pepsi-Cola
It's a fact, more than half of the Pepsi drinkers tested in the Corpus Christi area preferred Pepsi! (It's true)
Now what's the drink that wins the test, that Pepsi drinkers think is best? I'm tellin' the truth! It ain't no joke. It's Pepsi
It has a better taste to me now than Coke does

The new, the new, the new taste of Pepsi (That's the way, Pepsi!)
You want a quick, shallow tap into that mind
You want a quick, shallow tap into that mind
(Pepsi-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, Pepsi-Cola)
(Pepsi-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, Pepsi-Cola)
What's a fair fact? Can-to-can, can-to-can...
Coca-Cola, please
Coca-Cola, please challenge the new taste of Pepsi
Take the Coca-Cola Challenge
So what I wanna know is if you're drinking Pepsi, who's drinking Coke?

I'd like to buy the world a home and furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees and snow-white turtle doves
I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Pepsi and keep it company
Challenge this, Coca-Cola!
This is Tex Avery, I want to thank you...
People think I'm Bill Cosby, but (You couldn't never convince me no other way)
But, I'm really tooth decay
