We're killin' our planet, can we live without it?
Government says, next year we'll talk about it
I'm so ashamed of front page news
What about the power of rhythm and blues?

Maybe we should believe it
Everybody good people goin' under
Then comes down the wall
And freedom, after all, I'm finding, is blinding

Remember why we revolutioned?
It's black and white in the constitution
Then why the hell are woman and blacks
Still bein' treated as second class?

Each day I'm more amazed
At what a funky haze I live in
