Cold Cold Ground
Running round old London Town
A shovel in my hand
I'm a little shady but I'm still a working man
Creeping round the alleyways
I knows a little church
Gates are locked I'll push my cart
Let's see just what it's worth
Well I dig and I dig in the old bone yard
I never do make a sound
Packs up what I find down there
Lying deep in the cold cold ground
A lot of people frown on me
And look down on my work
Not quite an honest living
But I give it all I'm worth
Bodies for the doctors
To take and cut apart
Perhaps a little jewelry
I'll chuck it on the cart
Well I dig and I dig in the old bone yard
I never do make a sound
Packs up what I find down there
Lying deep in the cold cold ground
Digging digging digging digging digging
All the night
I've been sweating buckets
But I'll make my rent alright
A lot of people frown on me
And look down on my work
Not quite an honest living
But I give it all I'm worth
Bodies for the doctors
To take and cut apart
Perhaps a little jewelry
I'll chuck it on the cart
Well I dig and I dig in the old bone yard
I never do make a sound
Packs up what I find down there
Lying deep in the cold cold ground
Mind your own business if you see me
Working hard late at night
Don't ask no stupid questions
Then you'll be alright
Banging on the doctors door
It is the dead of night
I hope he opens quickly
Because this one's a little ripe
I got some place I wanna be the other side of town
I got to get back down there to digging in the ground
Well I dig and I dig in the old bone yard
I never do make a sound
I Packs up what I find down there
Lying deep in the cold cold ground
Lying deep in the cold cold ground
Lying deep in the cold cold ground
Lying deep in the cold cold ground
