I find myself wanting to be the water
Or the light on the dock
Or the slow movement of a passing ship

I just want to feel part of something bigger
I wonder why I don’t

Everyone sees the giant in the sky
Up there in the painted sunset
There’s the sound of the fountain
Something that can’t be touched or held

How did guilt become a condition for existence?
The guilt of love divided
The guilt of not loving

A time to weep
A time to laugh
A time to mourn
A time to dance

But is it just a graceful dance of sorrow?
