Since I can recall the days we settled near the river bays
We have built our houses here, feeling safe and without fear
Growing cities took the land, asphalt, concrete, hand in hand
But then came the days of rain, it was pouring real sustained

On and on, our world was gone

The deluge is here, we are drowning in the flood
Our end is near when the river brings the flood
Our primal fears, punishment by the gods

Many of us died that day, the survivors feel so small
