Caves and Graves
I didn't think they were choosing
At first, they were confused
Now, there’s no excuse
For so much abuse
I croon:
“I can't go to the moon cause I don't even have shoes
I'm buried trying to move. In the meantime I read my books.”
Did you see the breaking news?
I still don't know how I could stood
I lost my voice saying "I knew"
I spent my strength
Explaining the obvious
And I became a stranger
They became victorious
I croon:
“I can't go to the moon cause I don't even have shoes
I'm buried trying to move. In the meantime I read my books.”
Two years ago, my tears dried up
But tears were not enough
To heal the old ills that have returned
Before, I wanted to be braver
This country digs only graves
And I fluff a pillow in my case
Before, I wanted to be braver
This country digs only graves
And I fluff a pillow in my cave
This deep feeling of helplessness
Makes me want just a safe place
