we heard the warning call
on wings of gold and steel
the look in our eye held the moon in the sky
onward and never to yield
at the sound of the tolling bell
the mist began to rise
the crest of the night obscured our sight
and darkness would shield our cries

at dawn the four winds blow
to chase away the night
out from the black the was no turning back
galloping into the light
in the glow of the setting sun
we follow the endless trail
those that had died still wondering why
and what lies behind the vale
