Night with You

We got a full moon on the Fourth of July
The lightning bugs are gliding through the sky
So why is it that with this perfect view
The only thing my eyes can see is you

The promenade still shimmers from the heat
The luminescent pulsing to the beat
Of fireworks I’m sure they’d see from space
That only seem to serve to light your face

And it’s so beautiful
It’s all I want to know

That I’m not losing every fight

And so we move on to the edge of the night
This town is like some tight shirt that don’t fit right
But looking through the glass and past the frames
I see the streets that soon will bear our names
