The Last Prayer

Dwelling in deep shadow
I lived in sin, heart like fire
And though I stumbled through the darkness
I never recant my wicked deeds

Now that I exit the waters of life
Father... Don't forsake me

Night beckons, darkness grows
The light fades from my eyes

Have mercy, rescue my soul

Thy way is of light and salvation
Unlock thy door, I bid thee: let me in
Like the Prodigal Son of Old
Receive me back with open arms

On the dawn of my life
I yearn to see thy face
