Bus Stop

Well, I'm standing at the bus stop all alone
Ain't got no money to use that telephone
I'm standing here looking up into the sky
With all those stars, it makes me wonder why
Although those stars up there in space
So we can't be the only intelligent race

I hear my bus now rumbling down the street
The cold air starts freezing up my feet
It also turns my breath right into steam
I hope I wake up and find this all a dream
And I'm really at home in my nice, warm bed
With big pop posters around my head

The bus drives by just missing my two feet
The driver sits there laughing in his seat
Pull on my gloves and button up my coat
If I see that guy again I'll slash his throat
No taxis around to whistle to
If you're about, I'll take it out on you

Well, running through the shops now really fast
Well, concentrating on making my breath last
There's funny things been happening in this town
I'm running straight but my eyes keep looking around
'Cause bodies been found, face full of fright
'Cause they start breeding this time of night

A police patrol car's creeping down the lane
Well, all this running's driving me insane
I'm sitting behind a dustbin lid to hide
'Cause they just wanna lock me up inside
A small dark room, throw away the key
So they can beat right up on me

I'm standing at the bus stop all alone
Ain't got no money to use that telephone
I'm standing here looking up into the sky
With all those stars, it makes me wonder why
With all those stars up there in space
So we can't be the only intelligent race
