Big Fish

Jenny came home from her trip away last winter
No-one knew what had got into her
Soon you could not go two steps without getting word of her
And there were a lot who wished they never heard of her

It was a big fish that caught her
Just under the water
And out here the tide it runs so strong
When you turn round the fish has gone

She danced in the fires that we lit for her returning
Even when her suitcases started burning
You're mad if you go back her friends had all said
They were right in ways they had not expected

With a new job and a house of her own
Whatever it was that had her, she has left here
