City Lights & Traffic Sound

The sky is cloudy gray,
rain drops fell upon his face.
Seven years he threw away,
when he broke his dear love's heart.

And it shouldn't end this way:
his foolish heart it went astray.
Was it something he could say?
"You'll never take away her pain."

The city lights and traffic sounds,
people scurry across the ground.
He caught her eye at the next light,
tears were far too strong to fight.

She said, "What are you doing here?
The moment I have long since feared.
Oh, I'm not the girl you left behind.
She's been gone for quite for some time."

You could see it in her eyes.
She had run out of tears to cry.
Now she turned and walked away.
Seven years gone to waste.
