All My Friends

Once I dreamed I saw your face on a carton of milk
Once I dreamed I spilled the milk all down my shirt
While a black and white cat in the daisies studies himself
Licking clean between his legs

You had been out on a limb for days and days and days and days

But all my friends are going to be strangers

The town now in your absence fills up with drunken sailors
The harbour unknowingly lifting and lowering ships like a sleeping chest
Everybody has this plan that they will get out early before the going gets rough
