Too Few Days

Driving to the sea, kicking up the sand
Combing through the dunes, I take hold of your hand
Those days, they never seemed so far
You make a joke, that’s who you are
If I could freeze the oceans, I would
Leave all the sailboats stranded for good
Then you wouldn’t have to drift away
And I could have more than just these too few days
This sandwich tastes like sand, and all the drinks are warm
I lean against the windbreak, and face a different storm
The rising tide only goes so far
I’m who I am ‘cause of who you are
