The Nameless
Oft, times these days I can't sleep 'cause nightmares taunt my mind
I fear we've each been cheated since the birth of humankind
The powerful will fight hard to keep, us, people blind
Ensure we're misdirected, born to fail, hard we strive
We keep on operating like machines day and night
Work dignifies, work dignifies
We know to push the button, yet we don’t know why
We do know when, but we don’t know why
How can we accept it, there's venom in our meals
To make a few ones wealthier, let all our people be killed
They crush our future and our heirs
By robbing oil and wood
They say it's about progress
In truth, blood, pain and gloom
It haunts me deeply, day and night
How can we still stand it, to be our tyrant's tools
And believing it's the only way we have to lead our lives
Hear the cries, the nameless slaves, they cry
Try to hear, the whispers of the kings
They are carrying the spoils they plundered
And they are marching over those lying prostrate
We slave away each precious day in order to exist
Our leaders preach of Jesus, whilst their tongues like Judas twist
They always take, they never give and yet like ants we march
Surrounded by plague, lies hunger, resilient the herd still rides
They sell new hates, new lies, new fears
Draw tainted history, we, workers, the fools
For it’s time to take a side, to raise our voices, join the tribes
Hear the cries, the nameless slaves, they cry
Try to hear, the whispers of the kings
They are stealing our time and our lives
Neither our dead will be safe if they still strike
We keep on operating like machines day and night
Work dignifies, work is the end
We know to push the button, yet we don’t know why
We do know when, but we don’t know why
There can be only real justice
When the ones who've fallen and all those deprived
Have their memories and their stories all restored, their turn to rise
Hear the cries, the nameless slaves, they cry
Try to hear, the whispers of the kings
They are stealing our time and our lives
Neither our dead will be safe if they still strike
