The Little White Cottage
Got my paint, got my brush
Got my seat, there's no rush
The little white cottage, fields of green
The prettiest sight, I have ever seen
The first brush strokes, my eyes are closed
Sends a tingle to my toes
The sky is blue, the clouds are white
My whole world feels so right
Got my paint, got my brush
Got my seat, there's no rush
The little white cottage, fields of green
The prettiest sight, I have ever seen
My eyes they flicker as pages turn
And pictures form in my brain
A winter scene is first to call
Moving to the autumn fall
Spring and summer lie in between
Covers my palette with blues and greens
Got my paint, got my brush
Got my seat, there's no rush
The little white cottage, fields of green
The prettiest sight, I've ever seen
Colours of the rainbow in the sky
The pot of gold in my mind's eye
The view is there to behold
As deep in thought my memory goes
Mixing colours white and blue, snowdrops followed by bluebells too
The cottage roof, grey slate tile
Sketch it first, it takes a while
Birds of colour, perched so high
I need to frame them before they fly
The yellow sun strokes the fields
Corn is golden, grass is green, shows the
perfect summer scene
Got my paint, got my brush
Got my seat, there's no rush
The little white cottage, fields of green
The prettiest sight I have ever seen
