Hope

These cuts seep deeper and deeper
Anchors dig into the veins
Every act leads to sorrow
Regret, fear, spreading faster and faster
Every thought is lined with shadow
Shadows that come from nowhere at all

No matter how far I delve, the result is always the same
Every solution is countered, by yet another surge of doubt
I can find no way out
No exit in sight
I can only be still, and drown in the dark

I reach further down, and I lose my sight
My identity stripped, and my sense of right and wrong
Void
All null and void

With every step, and each passing moment
I feel myself spiral down into hell
All roads backwards are closed
All ties are slowly severed
No hope for one who has never known it
At all

As I come undone
My options wear thin
I seem to feel next to nothing
No meaning, no purpose, nor goal to grasp

All emotions, snuffed out
All solutions make no sense
Freedom is just a mirage
And choice is ironic
