Orange Trees
Dead flowers fall, from the orange trees
There’s smoke in the air dust on the leaves
Put on your shoes, in the dead of night
And, follow the moon and I will find you
Wait for me, by the orange trees
Oh wait for me, by the orange trees
‘Cause I’m holding back the horses
But I can’t hold them for long
They are pulling on the reins
Like they are running from a storm
If you’ll be my sky and fire
I will be your earth and stone
Just wait for me, by the orange trees
Oh wait for me but the orange trees
Dead flowers fall, beneath my feet
They smell of love and endless sighing, yeah
My heart is full but my hands are weak
And they cannot keep the birds from flying
But wait for me, by the orange trees
Oh wait for me, by the orange trees
‘Cause I’m holding back the horses
But I can’t hold them for long
They are pulling on the reins
Like they are running from a storm
If you’ll be my sky and fire
I will be your earth and stone
Just wait for me, by the orange trees
Oh wait for me but the orange trees oh
Did we fall, fall too far
When it was just a night
It was just a night
But it caught, in my heart
I think we flew too high
I think we lost a life
I think we lost a life, we lost a life
And something died that night
We lost a life, we lost a life
And something died that night
But wait, for me
By the orange trees
‘Cause I’m holding back the horses
But I can’t hold them for long
They are pulling on the reins
Like they are running from a storm
If you’ll be my sky and fire
I will be your earth and stone
Just wait for me, by the orange trees
Oh wait for me but the orange trees
