Gardens
Undesiring gardens
If they only bloom at night
I was wondering
Would you like to see me in the light
I was offering
What it was I thought you thought was right
And you’d come 'round
As I was leading all the horses out to run
Slowed down
When I caught an inflammation of the lung
And I know now
I wasn’t offering myself in whole
To anything or anyone
Undesiring fire
If any closer than my own
Nightly lightning
I would watch it wide-eyed in my boat
Cliffside calling
I had never felt so close
And yet so far from home
Will you come 'round
I am leading all the horses to the pond
Look deep and see how
The water and the earth have formеd
A gorgeous mud
And I’ll dive down
Gathering what I can
But feel thе water take it back
As I swim up
