Where Did the Ordinary People Go?
This street has changed so much
A line of fortresses, look but don't touch
I'd like to call on my neighbours one day
But the Doberman won't look the other way
There's one thing I'd like to know
Where did the ordinary people go?
In my street, I don't know a soul
The walls and fences never have no holes
If I could only be your peeping tom
You could complain about my bonfire burning strong
There's one thing I'd like to know
Where did the ordinary people go?
I nod my head and say hello
Where did thе ordinary people go?

In my street, we go by car
The tinted windows never show who you are
If I could see you, I'd complain about the noise
I glimpse across the fence we both might enjoy
There's one thing I'd like to know
Where did the ordinary people go?
I nod my head and say hello
Where did the ordinary people go?
Where did they go? (The ordinary people)
Those ordinary people (The ordinary people)
Where did they go? (The ordinary people)
Those ordinary
