Statues of the Forest
I walk alone through the forest
There is no one there to stop me
The trees keep on pouring
All their secrets in my pockets
And I swear to forever keep them
In my soul and in my spirit
As I went on
And they will walk with me forever
They promise strength they promise courage
To cross the deserts of past oceans
Where you stood at the end with your hand pointing
Far towards the green horizon
Towards new wonders all pure and namelеss
As we went on
As the sun bеcame the guardian
Of the dreams of our lovers
We found marble at the bottom
Of the lake that I grew up by
And there were statues in the forest
To remind us of all the beauty
They've all went on
Now we sail slowly backwards
To find the point that finally led us here
We swim in pitch black water
But with each stroke a million lights appear
There's no bottom to our sorrows
We filled the lagoon until it flooded
As we searched on
